When renowned Russian tenor and entertainer Nikolai Baskov travelled to Barcelona to film the music video for Zaya, I Love You, Alex Grubik and his Ukrainian production team turned to Icon International to deliver the local production.
Working from an ambitious creative brief, Icon assembled the production from the ground up, securing iconic locations including Barcelona’s historic Monumental Bullring, elegant city architecture and the streets of Sitges. Our team managed permits, drone operations, studio facilities, casting, large-scale crowd scenes, transport, catering and the countless logistical details that allowed the visiting crew to focus on the creative.
The production embraced a wonderfully theatrical style (not to everyone’s taste!), featuring matadors, serenades, giant rabbits, colourful choreography and a carnival-style finale involving musicians, dancers, jugglers and a large cast of extras filling the streets of Sitges. It was one of those wonderfully eccentric productions that reminds you why music videos are always full of surprises.
Released in 2014, the video has since been viewed more than 7 million times on YouTube, becoming another memorable international production delivered by Icon International in Barcelona.
