Icon International provided production services across Spain for One Hot Summer, the BBC Three series following thirteen young Britons as they embark on a month-long journey of self-discovery through some of the country’s most iconic destinations. Blending travel, culture and observational storytelling, the series explores new friendships, personal growth and the challenges of stepping beyond familiar surroundings.
Filmed across Barcelona, Sitges, Marbella, Ibiza and Seville, the production captured the remarkable diversity of Spain—from cosmopolitan cities and Mediterranean beaches to historic streets, vibrant nightlife and world-famous festivals. With a constantly moving cast and crew, the series demanded a highly coordinated production approach capable of supporting multiple destinations within a demanding filming schedule.
Working alongside the UK production, Icon delivered comprehensive production services including production management, location scouting, filming permits, local crew, transport coordination and production logistics. Managing a multi-city road production required detailed planning, efficient movement of people and equipment, and close collaboration with local authorities, venues and suppliers to ensure each stage of the journey ran smoothly.
